RESIDENCE PERMIT (Visa Type ’D’) APPLICATIONS
Third country nationals who wish to stay in Hungary for more than 90 days out of 180 days must apply for a residence permit (Visa Type ’D’)
Residence Permit (Visa Type ’D’) applicants are required to complete their application forms on our portal, after which a residence permit application form bearing a QR code will be generated. The portal is accessible via the following link:

Applicants are advised to have soft copies of all supporting documents prepared in advance to be uploaded.
Soft copies of each supporting document must be in good quality, less than 5MB per file and preferably in pdf format.

Each residence permit (Type ’D’) applicant (including children of all ages) must create a system generated residence permit application form and corresponding appendix

In addition to required documents available on the OIF website, each applicant must include the following to their supporting documents for submission:
· Flight reservation for the intended date of departure
· Proof of accommodation for the entire duration of stay
· Two passport size photographs on white background
Applicants must report to the Embassy of Hungary in Accra on their appointment date with hard copies of all uploaded supporting documents and the system generated Residence Permit application form bearing the QR code.
Residence permit applications must be submitted a maximum of three months before the intended departure date
Important Notice Regarding Employment/Guest Work Residence Permits
Applicants are hereby informed that new regulations have been introduced that no longer permit the admission of employment purpose residence permit applications.
We would like to inform you that in accordance with the current legislation, only citizens of the following countries can obtain a work permit in Hungary under the procedures initiated on 1 January 2025:
· Georgia
· Armenia
· Republic of the Phillipines

Visa ’D’ Type Application Fees
Payment of visa fees is made by POS terminal ONLY with any bank card (debit, credit, visa or mastercard) at the Embassy during your appointment. Cash is not accepted.
Visa D Type fee is the prevailing US Dollar equivalent of 110 EUR for all persons including minors
